Pick, pack and dispatch the Friday morning order wave

What is going on

Friday morning's wave includes a home delivery order with chilled and frozen lines, a courier fashion order that needs a belt at low stock, the Wattle Grove Aged Care pharmacy delivery that requires the pharmacist's final check, and a click and collect order where the customer has asked about a sourdough loaf that was out of stock. Last week a delivery arrived with thawed frozen goods because the tote was short on ice packs, and the Bayview Kitchen Co standing order has been late twice. Grace Whitmore leads the shift and Riley Morgan wants the online customer enquiries answered before midday.

Your brief

Check availability before the wave is released, pick in the correct sequence, handle substitutions and refunds by the customer's preference, pack and record tote temperatures for the cold chain, dispatch each order by the right method and respond to the online customers in the register so that every order is accurate and on time.

• Read the online order picking, packing and delivery procedure and the food safety policy, then check stock availability for the wave in the stock register and flag the belt and any zero-stock lines.
• Pick the home delivery order in the sequence ambient, chilled, frozen, scanning every item and selecting the longest dates, and record the yoghurt substitution at the original price.
• Pack the chilled and frozen products in insulated totes with the correct ice pack count, move them to chilled staging within ten minutes and record the tote temperature at dispatch in the monitoring register.
• Pick and pack the courier fashion order after confirming the belt in size L is on hand, using a satchel with the returns slip, and update the order status.
• Prepare the aged care pharmacy order for the pharmacist's final check, keeping it separate from food, and record the requirement for the nurse in charge to sign on delivery.
• Respond to the click and collect customer about the sourdough refund through the customer feedback register, courteously and without sharing any other customer's details.
• Update each order in the online orders system through picking, packing and dispatch, and note the Bayview Kitchen Co standing order as first drop on Saturday's run.
• Report the pallet near miss you witnessed on the dock on the incident and hazard report form.
