About Try It

What it is, what is real and what is not.

Why Try It exists

It is hard to know if you would like a kind of work until you have tried it, and real work experience is not always easy to find. Try It lets you step into a job on a screen, make the calls and see how it feels, before you spend time or money on it.

What is real and what is not

Real: the list of occupations, their descriptions and their main tasks come from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. They are the official national classification.

Fictional: every workplace, person, case study and simulation. We wrote them to show the kind of situations the work involves. They are not a complete or exact picture of any job, and they are not training or professional instruction.

What Try It is not

It is not a test, a qualification or work experience that an employer or course provider will recognise. It does not tell you what you should do, and it does not list jobs or courses. It is a way to explore. For help with a real decision, talk to a careers adviser, or to someone who does the work.

Who is behind it

Try It is part of the Career Calling family, within CAQA Groups, and is operated by Career Calling International Pty Ltd. The simulated workplaces were built by CAQA.
