Try It in your classroom
A way for students to try work they have never seen, without placements, accounts or personal details.
Why it works in class
- No student accounts and no names. Answers stay on the device a student is using.
- Every workplace and person is fictional and clearly labelled.
- Students can print what they did and talk it through with a careers adviser or family.
- It works on a phone, tablet or computer, in class or at home.
A simple lesson
- Ask students to pick an occupation they know little about, not just one they already like.
- They sort its tasks, then play its simulation, and note one thing that surprised them.
- In pairs, they read the case study and answer its questions together.
- For a longer session, a small group takes on a mission in a simulated workplace.
- They print their list and notes to talk through with you or their family.
Try It adds to real work experience. It does not replace it, and it is not a recognised placement or training. Some occupations involve mature themes, so please preview what you plan to use.
