What is going on

It is Tuesday 15 September and the Client Services Coordinator is at the Geelong site. You are opening South Yarra alone for the first hour and running the front desk until 1:00 pm. The appointment book shows a foils client at 9:00 am who has a patch test on file, a brow tint client who is a new client with a pending patch test, a restyle client who needs a consultation before the stylist arrives, and a bridal party enquiry expected by phone. The float has to be counted and signed, the opening checklist completed, and every client greeted, gowned and prepared before their stylist or therapist is ready.

Sofia Marchetti, Client Services Coordinator
Subject: Cover the desk on Tuesday morning

I am at the Geelong site all day Tuesday 15 September, so you will open South Yarra and run the front desk until 1:00 pm. The float record, the opening checklist and the appointment book are all set up for you. Two of the morning clients need a patch test check before they sit down and one has a deposit to be applied. Please follow the Opening, Closing and Cash Reconciliation Procedure exactly and leave the signed checklist in the tray for me. Call me if the point of sale system will not print the report.

Your brief

Open the site to procedure, prepare and record the morning clients, take a bridal enquiry booking with a deposit, and hand over a signed opening checklist and an accurate appointment book at 1:00 pm.

Work through it

You do not need to do it all. Doing a few of these will show you what the work is like. Your ticks and notes stay on this device.

What someone in this role would produce

  • Completed opening checklist with float count and signature
  • Updated Appointment Book entries for the morning clients and the new bridal booking
  • Handover note to the Client Services Coordinator
  • Any incident register entry created

Printing this is a record of what you explored. It is not a certificate or a qualification.
