Prepare the exclusion zone and explosives paperwork for blast 26-41

What is going on

Blast 26-41 on the north wall of the Deepridge open cut fires on 16 September 2026 in a 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm window. Sixty-two holes have been drilled and surveyed and the design has been approved. On 20 August a sentry left a post before the all clear, and the blast checklist now includes a radio check at every post before firing. The north dump tension crack sits within 300 metres of the blast, and the neighbouring property to the north is a sensitive receiver for vibration and overpressure. The magazine issue must reconcile with the magazine register, and wind and dust trigger levels must be confirmed with the HSE and Training Manager.

Your brief

Prepare the exclusion zone plan and sentry roster, complete the magazine issue paperwork, run the pre-blast checks from the Blast Management Plan, confirm the environmental trigger levels, and set out the post-blast inspection and reporting steps for the Blast Crew Leader's review.

• Read the Blast Management Plan and the Emergency Response Plan explosives section and list the pre-blast, firing and post-blast controls.
• Draw or describe the exclusion zone for blast 26-41, including the access points, sentry posts, the closed north dump and the muster point for the crew.
• Prepare the sentry roster with names, posts, radio call signs and the all clear sequence, including the new radio check step.
• Complete the magazine issue paperwork for the explosives and detonators and describe how the issue and return are reconciled with the magazine register.
