Implement week one of the October production plan and evaluate compliance
You are the Production Planning and Quality Lead.
What is going on
The Production Plan for October to December 2026 has been approved with a quarterly target of 47,500 saleable tonnes at 88 per cent efficiency, a repeating grade cycle, a 36-hour shutdown from 17 October and fibre and environmental targets. Week one starts on 1 October with fluting grades. Customer orders from four box plants must be allocated to the cycle, fibre yard stock is 5,400 tonnes with a held contractor load, refiner 2 needs a plate inspection, and the recovery boiler exceedance investigation is open. The General Manager also wants an evaluation of how the pulp line and effluent plant are tracking against the environmental licence and the quality system before the external audit on 3 November.
Subject: October plan week one and the compliance review
The October to December production plan has been approved and I need the week one schedule implemented: allocate the customer orders to the grade cycle, confirm fibre and chemical supply, set the shutdown scope with maintenance and brief the supervisors. Helen has also asked for an evaluation of how the pulp line and effluent plant are tracking against the licence and the quality system before the November audit. Please prepare both and bring them to Wednesday's production meeting.
Your brief
Convert the approved plan into a week one schedule that allocates orders, confirms fibre, chemical and maintenance readiness and briefs supervisors, and prepare an evaluation of the pulp line and effluent plant against regulatory and quality requirements with findings and actions for the production meeting.
Work through it
You do not need to do it all. Doing a few of these will show you what the work is like. Your ticks and notes stay on this device.
What someone in this role would produce
