What is going on

Harbourline Hospitality Group is opening three new venues in December and has briefed a six-piece front of house capsule: two shirts, a vest, a bib apron, a trouser and a skirt in navy, plus a printed neckerchief. The brief sets a budget per wearer, asks for fabrics that survive commercial laundering, and requires that every fabric supplier holds a current ethical sourcing declaration. The Design Studio Manager wants three concept boards, a fabric and trim shortlist with landed costs, a print proposal for the neckerchief with a dye or print method the Preston studio can run, and a draft tech pack for the first shirt, all by the end of September so sampling can start in October.

Harbourline Hospitality Group wants a six-piece front of house capsule for their new venues opening in December: two shirts, a vest, an apron, a trouser and a skirt, in navy with a printed neckerchief. The brief and their budget per wearer are in the shared drive. I want three concept boards, a fabric and trim shortlist with costs, a print proposal for the neckerchief and a draft tech pack for the shirt by the end of the month. Your brief

Respond to the client brief with three concept boards, a costed fabric and trim shortlist that meets the ethical sourcing requirements, a neckerchief print proposal that the print studio can produce, and a draft tech pack for the first shirt entered in the Tech Pack Register at Draft.

Read the client brief and the Ethical Sourcing and Sustainability Policy and list the design, performance, budget and sourcing constraints the capsule must meet.
Research current hospitality uniform directions and commercial laundering performance requirements and summarise the influences that will shape the concepts.
Prepare three concept boards with sketches of all six pieces and the neckerchief, colour and print direction, and a short rationale for each board against the brief.
Build a fabric and trim shortlist from Materials and Trims Stock and approved suppliers, confirm each supplier's ethical sourcing declaration status with Supply and Dispatch, and record landed cost per metre.
Calculate an estimated cost per wearer for the preferred concept using fabric consumption estimates, trims, labour minutes and the budget in the brief.
Develop the neckerchief print proposal, specifying the fabric, print method, number of colours, screen or transfer requirements and wash fastness testing the Preston studio will run.
Complete the Tech Pack Template for the first shirt, including technical flats, construction sequence and bill of materials, and create the register entry at status Draft.
Prepare a presentation summary for the Design Studio Manager that recommends one concept and states what is needed from the client before sampling.
