What is going on

A raised concrete slab outside Marlow Flat Primary School has caused a child to trip. The slab has been ground and coned as a temporary measure and works order WO-26-0415 is open to replace three slabs before Friday. School drop-off runs from 8:15 am to 9:00 am and the footpath is the main route for walking students. Two houses share the footpath frontage. Last week a crew member strained his back lifting a slab without the vacuum lifter, and the manual handling refresher has not yet run. Hemi Tauroa has allocated the footpath truck and a two-person crew but the vacuum lifter is booked on another job on Wednesday.

The School Lane footpath job is urgent and I want it finished before Friday drop-off. Please prepare the site for the works: complete the job safety analysis, arrange the traffic management, notify the school and the two adjoining houses, and confirm the vacuum lifter is on the truck after Dee's back injury. Then build the next fortnightly schedule in the Works and Asset Maintenance Orders system using the Annual Works Maintenance Plan. Check with Hemi about plant availability.

Open WO-26-0415 in the Works and Asset Maintenance Orders system and check the asset details, priority and current notes.
Complete a job safety analysis for slab removal and replacement outside a school, including manual handling, pedestrian control, saw cutting dust and traffic.
Prepare a simple pedestrian and traffic management sketch that keeps a safe route for students during drop-off and pick-up.
Draft the notification to the school and the two adjoining residents giving 48 hours notice and the expected duration.
Consult Hemi Tauroa about moving the vacuum lifter booking so it is on the truck on Thursday, and record the outcome in the works order.
List the materials, plant and personal protective equipment required and confirm they are available at the depot.
Update the works order with the scheduled date, crew, plant and preparation notes and set the status to Scheduled.
