Receive and inspect three inbound deliveries

What is going on

Three deliveries are booked for the receiving dock this morning: navel oranges in bulk bins for the juice line, whey powder that must go to quarantine pending a microbiological result, and a pallet of printed sleeves for snack line 2. The sleeves need particular care because an obsolete sleeve with a superseded allergen statement was found on the line this week. Each delivery must be inspected on the dock before it moves, using the Goods Receipt Inspection Form, checked against the approved supplier register and the specification, and entered in the receipts system with the correct status. Danny Papadopoulos has said that anything doubtful goes to quarantine, not to the line.

Your brief

Inspect and receive three deliveries in line with the goods receipt inspection form and the approved supplier register, make the correct accept, quarantine or reject decision for each, label every pallet and record each lot in the receipts system with the right allergen and quarantine status.

• Read the Goods Receipt Inspection Form and the Approved Supplier Register and list the checks you must complete for an ambient, a chilled and a packaging delivery.
• Check the Work Health and Safety Policy hazards for the receiving dock and describe the controls you will use for forklift and pedestrian movement and manual handling.
• Inspect the orange delivery for vehicle cleanliness, pests, bin condition and spoilage, confirm the supplier is approved and record the decision on the form.
• Inspect the whey powder delivery, confirm the allergen declaration and the certificate of analysis, and receive it into quarantine pending the microbiological result.
• Inspect the printed sleeves against the approved artwork version, and quarantine the pallet with a non-conformance report if the artwork version cannot be confirmed.
• Enter each lot in the Raw Material Receipts and Stock system with material, supplier, lot number, quantity, allergen status and status, and describe the pallet labels applied.
• Report to Danny Papadopoulos with a summary of the three receipts and any item you were unsure about.
